Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Ceviz processes, why we process it, which services support the app, and what rights and choices you may have.

At a Glance

Ceviz is an offline-first mobile app that helps parents soothe their babies. There is no account to create, we operate no servers, and we do not transmit your personal information off your device. Only required third-party components — Google AdMob (advertising) and Apple's App Tracking Transparency (iOS only) — process limited data under their own policies.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to the Ceviz app on iOS and Android and to its associated legal pages (privacy, terms). Third-party services that the app touches — app stores, device operating systems, advertising platforms — have their own privacy policies and are not governed by this Policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information Stored on Your Device

  • Your favorite sounds.
  • The most recently played sound and selected sleep-timer preference.
  • Lullabies you record on your device (up to 10 minutes each, on-device only).
  • Theme (system / light / dark) and language (system / English / Turkish) preferences.

All of the above lives only in the app's local storage on your device. We do not have access to it. Uninstalling the app removes this data.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

Ceviz does not run analytics or crash-reporting SDKs. We do not collect usage statistics, behavioral telemetry, or diagnostic data.

2.3 Information From Third Parties

Because there is no account system, we do not receive identity, subscription, or notification data from third-party providers. Google AdMob may process advertising identifiers under its standard ad-serving processes (see §5).

3. How We Use Information

We use the information stored on your device only to power the app's own functionality:

  • apply your selected theme and language on every launch;
  • provide quick access to sounds you've added to favorites;
  • remember the last-played sound for the "Continue" tile;
  • store lullabies you've recorded so you can play them back.

This processing happens entirely on your device. We do not transmit this information to a server because we do not run one.

4. Legal Bases and Product Necessity

Depending on your location, we process information because it is necessary to provide the Service, to pursue legitimate interests such as security and product improvement, to comply with legal obligations, or because you have granted device-level permissions (such as microphone access). Because all your local data stays on your device, the personal-data processing footprint is intentionally minimal.

5. Advertising

5.1 Google AdMob

To stay free, the Sounds list includes native ads delivered by Google AdMob. While serving ads, AdMob may process advertising identifiers and related ad-delivery signals under its own policies. Ceviz does not share your in-app profile or behavior with AdMob.

5.2 iOS — App Tracking Transparency

On iOS 14.5 and above, the app displays Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt the first time it launches. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track," ads are still served but not personalized. You can change this anytime from Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

5.3 Android — Advertising ID

You can reset or delete your advertising identifier from Settings → Google → Ads.

6. Microphone Access

The microphone is used only when you actively start a recording inside the app. Recordings stay on your device and are never uploaded. You can revoke microphone permission at any time from your device settings; doing so disables the recording feature, but existing recordings remain on your device.

7. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Limited sharing may occur only as technically necessary with:

  • Google AdMob: in-app advertising delivery, subject to its own policies.
  • Apple App Store and Google Play: app distribution, version management, and store-related compliance.
  • Legal and safety recipients: where required by law or to protect rights and safety.

8. International Transfers and Hosting

Ceviz operates no server infrastructure of its own and therefore performs no personal-data transfers. Third-party services such as Google AdMob and the app stores may process data in different jurisdictions according to their own infrastructure.

9. Data Retention

All your local data stays on your device until you uninstall the app. Because we hold no personal data on a server, you do not need to submit a deletion request — uninstalling the app is sufficient.

10. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights under GDPR (EU), CCPA (California), and KVKK (Turkey): access, correction, deletion, portability, objection. Because Ceviz holds no personal data on a server, these rights are exercised locally:

  • To delete your data: uninstall the app from your device.
  • To revoke microphone access: change permissions in device settings.
  • To opt out of personalized ads: follow §5.2 and §5.3 above.

11. Account Deletion

Ceviz has no account system — you do not register to use it. There is no separate "delete account" flow. To remove your data completely, simply uninstall the app from your device. All preferences, favorites, recordings, and last-played information stored locally are removed immediately.

12. Children and Age Restrictions

Ceviz is designed for parents to use. It is not directed at children under 13 (or a higher age if your jurisdiction requires it) and we do not knowingly collect personal data from such children. If you believe a child under 13 has used the app accidentally, uninstalling the app removes all local data; no information ever reached a server we operate.

13. Security

Local data is protected by the operating system's standard app sandbox and file permissions. Your device-level lock (PIN, password, biometric) provides an additional security layer. No transmission or storage method is fully secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes we will update the "Last Updated" date above and, where possible, surface a notice in-app. Your continued use of the app after an updated policy takes effect means the updated version applies to your future use.
