At a glance
Ceviz is a mobile app designed to help parents, with offline-capable core functionality. No account is required. Your preferences, favorites, and recordings stay on your device. To keep the product reliable and sustainable we process anonymous crash reports and aggregate usage data through Google Firebase; ads are served via Google AdMob and on iOS are subject to your consent through App Tracking Transparency.
Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the Ceviz app published for iOS and Android, along with the related legal pages (privacy, terms). Ceviz is a mobile app composed of modules covering different stages of parenthood; whenever a module has additional specific terms, we'll communicate them here or in-app. Third-party services that the app relies on — app stores, device operating systems, ad platforms — have their own privacy policies; this Policy does not cover them.
Information We Collect
2.1 Information Stored on Your Device
- Your favorite sounds.
- The most recently played sound and your selected sleep timer preference.
- Lullabies you record on your device (each up to 10 minutes, stored only on the device).
- Theme (system / light / dark) and language (system / Turkish / English) preferences.
All of this is held only in your device's local app storage. We do not have access to it. Uninstalling the app deletes this data.
2.2 Automatically Collected Anonymous Data
To measure reliability and quality of use, we collect the following anonymous data via Google Firebase:
- Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics): when the app crashes — stack trace, device model, OS version, app version, and the technical context at the moment of the crash. The content does not include information that identifies you.
- Aggregate usage data (Firebase Analytics): anonymous signals such as which screens were opened, how often features were used, session length, device model, language, and region preference. May include an advertising identifier; no name, email, or registration data is collected.
This data is processed to make the product crash less and become more useful; it is not used for ad personalization.
2.3 Information from Third Parties
Because there is no account system, we do not receive data from authentication, subscription, or notification providers. Only Google AdMob may process advertising identifiers as part of its standard processes for serving ads (see §5).
How We Use Information
We use the information stored on your device only to deliver the app's own functionality:
- to apply your selected theme and language each time the app launches;
- to give you quick access to sounds you favorited;
- to remember the last sound for the "Recently played" feature;
- to keep your own recorded lullabies available for replay.
This processing happens only on your device. We do not send this information to our server, because we don't have one.
Legal Basis and In-Product Necessity
Depending on your location, we process information because it is necessary to provide the Service, to pursue legitimate interests such as security and product improvement, to comply with legal obligations, or because you have granted device-level permissions (such as microphone access). Because all your local data stays on your device, the personal-data processing footprint is intentionally minimal.
Advertising
5.1 Google AdMob
To remain free, the Sounds list shows native ads served via Google AdMob. While ads are being served, AdMob may process advertising identifiers and related ad-serving signals under its own policies. Ceviz does not share your user profile or in-app behavior with AdMob.
5.2 iOS — App Tracking Transparency
On iOS 14.5 and later, the first time the app launches we present Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission prompt. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track," ads will still be served but will not be personalized. You can change your choice anytime under Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
5.3 Android — Advertising Identifier
You can reset or delete the advertising identifier under Settings → Google → Ads.
Microphone Access
The microphone is used only when you actively start a recording inside the app. Recordings stay on your device and are never uploaded. You can revoke microphone permission at any time from your device settings; doing so disables the recording feature, but existing recordings remain on your device.
International Transfer and Hosting
Ceviz does not operate its own server infrastructure. Anonymous crash reports and usage data are processed on Google Firebase infrastructure, and ads are processed on Google AdMob infrastructure. Google may process this data in data centers in different countries; processing in the US and EU is common. Data transfers are carried out under Google's Privacy Policy and via appropriate transfer mechanisms such as the Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).
Content Delivery Network
Static educational content (weekly information, nutrition lists, checklists) is downloaded from our content delivery network. No personal data is sent in these requests.
Data Retention
All local data on your device stays on your device until you uninstall the app. Because we do not retain personal data on a server, you do not need to send a deletion request — uninstalling the app is enough. Anonymous crash reports and aggregate usage data are retained under Google's retention policies.
Your Choices and Rights
Depending on your location, you may have general rights under KVKK (Türkiye), GDPR (EU), and CCPA (California): access, rectification, deletion, portability, and objection. Because Ceviz does not retain any personal data on a server, you exercise these rights in practice as follows:
- To delete your data, uninstall the app from your device.
- To revoke microphone access, change permissions in device settings.
- To turn off personalized ads, follow the steps in §5.2 and §5.3.
- For general questions, reach out at getceviz@gmail.com.
Account Deletion
Ceviz has no account system — you don't have to register to use it. As such, there is no separate "account deletion" flow. To remove your data entirely, all you need to do is uninstall the app from your device. All preferences, favorites, recordings, and last-played information stored on your device are deleted instantly.
Children and Age Restrictions
Ceviz is designed to be used by parents and does not directly target children under 13 (or under a higher minimum age that may apply in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child under 13 has used the app in error, uninstalling the app is sufficient to delete all local data; there is no data retained on our server.
Security
Local data is protected by the standard application sandbox and file permissions provided by the operating system. The device lock (PIN, password, biometric) provides an additional layer of security. Because no method of transmission or storage is fully secure, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make a material change, we'll update the "Last Updated" date above and try to surface a notice in the app where reasonably possible. Continued use of the app after the updated Policy takes effect means the current version applies to you.

Third-Party Services
Ceviz uses the following third-party services. We recommend reviewing their privacy policies:
- Google Firebase Crashlytics: anonymous crash reports. Firebase Privacy & Security
- Google Firebase Analytics: aggregate usage data. Firebase Privacy & Security
- Google AdMob: in-app native advertising. Google Privacy Policy
- Apple App Tracking Transparency: the iOS tracking-permission framework. Apple Privacy Policy
